Family Car Cousins Green Light EV Looks
Our sister site GreenFamilyCar.com is now reporting from Detroit during the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) after recently reviewing electric vehicles that middle income families will be able to choose from among in 2012 on display during the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. A broad range of more fuel efficient and more environmentally friendly vehicles have been shown. Family Car Cousins Keith Turner and Dean Adams Curtis, offer their green light during the coming year, to take a look at, and to perhaps test drive, a variety of the following 9 electric vehicles that will be available from auto dealers in 2012. In no particular order and numbered for your convenience (and ours) keeping count, they are: 1. the Honda Leaf EV, 2. the Ford Focus EV, 3. Mitsubishi’s MiEV (said “My EV”), 4. the Ford Transit Connect Electric, which is perfect for small business owners, 5. BMW’s Active E, 6. Tesla’s Model S, 7. the Coda sedan assembled in the Los Angeles area, …and finally, bringing up the last of the list of electric vehicles that might possibly be in your price range, the two EVs that have been around for a year since the 2010 LA Auto Show, namely: 8. GM Volt, 5,300 of which have been sold in the past year, as well as 9. the top selling EV, the Nissan Leaf, currently in the hands of 8,000 owners. IN A GRAND CARAVAN
After loading the vacation gear, my husband proudly announced, with shock, to anyone that would listen, “Hey…I can still see out of the rear view mirror!” Obviously that was not something he was accustomed to on previous trips. However, the biggest screech came from our two girls (ages 14 and 11) when they discovered that you could actually watch the Hannah Montana TV show on the two drop-down DVD players (with wireless headsets) while we were driving!
